Starting scaffold work on branch job/scaffold, based on 5f15b1e66ac9f1e781add30ed77a2594dda4472e. I’m reading the binding design/context and checking the current workspace before adding the skeleton.

Finding: the verified latest TypeScript (7.0.2) is not directly accepted by the web check command. bun run check failed in svelte-check 4.7.6 with: “TypeScript 7 support currently requires both TypeScript 7 and TypeScript 6 installed in your project, and requires using the --tsgo or --tsgo-experimental-api flag.” The job requires strict TypeScript, not TypeScript 7 specifically, so I’m switching the web package to TypeScript 6 for the supported check path.

Finding: the base worktree contained only the three binding docs and the issue helper; no Cargo workspace, package manifest, app source or crate existed yet. I verified the Rust stack against crates.io: cargo search returned Tokio 1.53.1 and Axum 0.8.9; cargo info confirmed rustls 0.23.45, SQLx 0.9.0, and webauthn-rs 0.5.5. Bun registry metadata returned SvelteKit 2.70.3, Svelte 5.57.1 and Tailwind 4.3.3. I’m using these verified versions for the scaffold.

Blocked on the requested workspace globs. cargo fmt --check fails because Cargo cannot read crates/plugins/*/Cargo.toml when the glob has no match. A no-repo-change experiment with an empty crates/plugins/ also fails because crates/* matches crates/plugins and then requires crates/plugins/Cargo.toml. Satisfying both globs requires adding a package at crates/plugins/ and at least one package below it, but neither path is in this job’s owned files. I’m not creating those files. Please have the owner either add/assign the plugin workspace placeholders or adjust the workspace membership pattern; the Rust fmt/clippy/test and Podman gates cannot pass until that workspace structure is decided.

Finding: to validate the server code despite the workspace glob blocker, I compiled the server in a temporary copy of the workspace manifest narrowed to crates/calternal-server. That compiler run found axum::extract::Uri is not exported in Axum 0.8 (unresolved import axum::extract::Uri); the request URI belongs to axum::http. I’ve corrected the owned server source. The official workspace gates still stop earlier at the unmatched plugin glob.

Finding: after fixing the Axum URI import, isolated Clippy (cargo clippy --all-targets -- -D warnings) flagged the SPA asset lookup’s nested if as clippy::collapsible_if at src/main.rs:102. I’m applying the let-chain form Clippy suggested and will rerun isolated Clippy and tests. The repository-level command remains blocked before compilation by the workspace glob.

Finding: a release binary started with CALTERNAL_SERVER__BIND=127.0.0.1:18080 still logged address=127.0.0.1:8080; the config crate uses the configured nested separator as the prefix separator unless overridden. CALTERNAL__SERVER__BIND worked, but the documented/container variable uses one underscore after CALTERNAL. I’m setting prefix_separator("_") explicitly so CALTERNAL_SERVER__BIND overrides the default as intended.

Finding: after switching to TypeScript 6, svelte-check also reported optional-prop errors in shadcn-svelte’s generated CommandDialog, CommandGroup, dropdown radio group, and Sonner components while exactOptionalPropertyTypes was enabled (6 errors, including PortalProps | undefined not assignable to an optional portalProps). That flag was stricter than the requested strict: true; I removed it and the final web check reports 0 errors and 0 warnings.

Finished scaffold work on job/scaffold.

Head SHA: 6e9458387e7d1515849d729e52c17efcb914e4df.

Built: the Rust server workspace manifest and minimal Axum server; Bun workspace; SvelteKit SPA with the requested shadcn-svelte/bits-ui components, neutral light/dark theme, reduced-motion support, sidebar and ⌘K command menu; package/contracts placeholders; Containerfile; Forgejo CI; README and editor/toolchain settings.

Gate output (verbatim excerpts):

bun install

bun install v1.4.2 (744846f84)

Repository-level cargo fmt --check, cargo clippy --all-targets -- -D warnings, cargo test, cargo run -p calternal-server, cargo clean, and podman build -f Containerfile -t calternal:dev . stop before compilation at the requested unmatched workspace glob. Cargo’s cargo fmt --check output begins:

`cargo metadata` exited with an error: error: failed to load manifest for workspace member `/home/kayg/Developer/calternal-wt/scaffold/crates/plugins/*`
referenced by workspace at `/home/kayg/Developer/calternal-wt/scaffold/Cargo.toml`

Caused by:
  failed to read `/home/kayg/Developer/calternal-wt/scaffold/crates/plugins/*/Cargo.toml`

Caused by:
No such file or directory (os error 2)

The Clippy/test/run/clean commands report the same missing member. Podman completed the Bun build and failed at its Rust build step with the corresponding /src/crates/plugins/*/Cargo.toml error.

For supplemental validation, I compiled the same server source in a temporary manifest containing only crates/calternal-server: isolated check and Clippy passed, and Rust tests reported test result: ok. 2 passed; 0 failed; 0 ignored; 0 measured; 0 filtered out. A release binary served curl localhost:8080/healthz as ok; curl -s localhost:8080/ | head returned the SPA HTML. index.html returned Cache-Control: no-cache; a hashed _app/immutable JavaScript asset returned Cache-Control: public, max-age=31536000, immutable. SIGTERM logged shutdown signal received.

The issue remains open. The plugin workspace paths are outside this job’s owned files, so I left them untouched; the owner must add/assign those placeholders or adjust the glob before the repository-level Rust and container gates can pass.
