Owner direction (2026-09-29, from the #359 task grill)

"the calendar itself should feel like a stream of things that happened which includes events, tasks, notes, files/photos, transactions, mail, etc. we should optimise based on density (zoom in levels vs zoom out levels). if a task is added after an event, it should be its own item after the event card on the calendar view. additionally i should be able to drag and drop various things into events to link them together!" and "we need to talk about previews at every density level in the calendar!"

Decided now:

  • A task created at a time is its own item on the calendar stream, placed after the event it follows; it is not nested inside an unrelated log entry (#359 T1). Existing test data stays as is (T2).
  • Previews show the task's real state and let the User tick it (T3).
  • Drag and drop links things together: drop a note, file, photo, task, transaction or mail onto an event to link it (links use stable identities).

Grill (open; nothing is built until answered and recorded)

Density levels (zoom in ↔ out), what each shows, and the preview at each level; how the stream groups dense hours; which item types appear by default; how links appear on an event card; drag-and-drop targets and feedback on touch and trackpad (ties into #399 gestures).
