Owner request (2026-09-30): "Find UI quirks like that please and remove."

"Like that" is the search indexing line (#545): a bare status sentence, placed flush against a card edge with no padding, in the wrong type role, and it looks odd.
Job: a quirk hunt across every route, on a production build (local server with real-shaped fixture data; no fake data in the UI):

  • Crawl every route and sub-view (sidebar sub-views, Settings sections, Admin, overlays: search, inspector, sheets, menus, toasts, empty states, loading states, error states) at 390, 820 and 1440 px, light and dark, with a background image set and without one.
  • Automated DOM checks. Log every hit with its route, selector and screenshot:
    • text whose box touches or crosses its container's padding edge;
    • text outside any known type role (computed font-size/weight/line-height not in the token set);
    • bare status/helper sentences not inside a component (a text node directly in a card or dialog);
    • horizontal overflow or clipped text without an ellipsis;
    • icon and label centre lines more than 1 px apart in a row (#538);
    • a glass surface with a text-shadow or a missing radius (the regressions from 2026-09-30);
    • an opaque card where the glass card is the rule (#540);
    • leftover English jargon in labels ("scope", "preset", "provider", "CalDAV" as a label without a friendly name, "Loading 0 items");
    • layout shift during loading (CLS > 0 on route change);
    • focus rings clipped by overflow.
  • Fix each quirk in the shared primitive that causes it (reuse gate; tokens only). Do not fix per screen when the cause is shared. Put each fix in its own commit with a before/after screenshot pair attached to this issue.
  • Findings that need an owner decision: list them in the final report under "Owner decisions", do not guess.
  • Add the checks that are cheap and stable to apps/web/e2e/layout-sweep.mjs so these quirks cannot come back.
    Do not touch apps/web/src/lib/components/search-dialog.svelte (#544/#545 own it) or the Files row markup (#538); report hits there instead.

Seed findings from the orchestrator's screenshot review (title-plain-526 artifacts, 2026-09-30). Include them in the hunt:

  1. Files list at 820 px with the sidebar open: the Name column is about 170 px wide and truncates ("A folder with a very …", "…cate somewhere.txt"), while Modified takes the rest of the width. Name must take the free width, and Modified/Size/Kind get their content width. This is Files row markup, so coordinate with #538 (report it there if #538 has not landed).
  2. Notes sidebar sheet at 390 px: in the "Notes + ⋯" header, the + and ⋯ float in the middle of the row instead of sitting at the trailing edge. The note rows start about 36 px further in than the "Notes" heading (the lock icon for the daily note is at x≈100 while the heading is at x≈64). Sidebar section headers and their rows share one leading edge across all Tabs.
  3. The front-end truncates file names at the start ("…8_41_41 PM (1).png"). Finder truncates in the middle, keeping the start and the extension ("Screenshot 2026…41 PM (1).png"). Use middle truncation for file names everywhere (a shared helper; check whether one exists).

Seed finding (orchestrator, search-count-545-indexing-1440-tokyo-night.png): a white glowing blob sits just right of the search footer pill (Open / See all / Actions), at about x=1230,y=1040 in the 1440 screenshot at 2x. It looks like a stray highlight/progressive-blur hotspot or a blurred element behind the dialog. Find what paints it and remove it (it also appears in the earlier #544 1440 screenshot near the bottom centre).

Starting #546 on branch job/quirks-546, based on aa372eef6c9312403f59a65d5b90cb3648ff52ed (merge-base with origin/dev). I am mapping the production build routes, shared primitives, and current layout sweep before recording findings and making isolated fixes. Production scan finding, 2026-10-01: the focused Files route group rendered 192 states at the three required widths, two themes, two background conditions and both sidebar states. The scanner recorded 3,646 hits. The largest repeated in-scope group is computed type-role drift: shared sidebar labels, floating sidebar labels, saved-search labels, ModeHeader breadcrumbs, Settings metadata and Quick Look metadata use line-height: normal or a raw font weight. Files status and summary text also use a bare caption role. The scan found 135 route shifts above zero (largest 0.0258), 64 glass text-shadow hits, and 7 clipped Quick Look metadata lines. It recorded 1,452 Files row hits whose selectors are owned by #538; those stay out of scope. The scan harness also failed to open the phone Inspector on files-inspector; I am correcting the route setup before the full sweep. Evidence and hit records are in the ignored worktree directory artifacts/quirks-546-target/.

Production scan finding, 2026-10-01: the corrected files-inspector route completed all 24 viewport/theme/background/sidebar variants. It recorded 837 type-role hits, 17 cumulative-shift hits and 8 clipped-metadata hits. The Quick Look metadata date line is clipped at 390 px without an ellipsis. The Inspector action opens and is included in the 24 screenshots. The 17 shift hits are currently a page-lifetime cumulative sum, so I am changing the collector to reset per route and include the shifted DOM sources before deciding whether any route has a real shift. Evidence is in artifacts/quirks-546-inspector/.

Finding 03 — Files count shifts while its real listing loads

The production files-inspector deep-link sweep recorded route-local CLS in all 16 desktop/tablet combinations. Its shared source was p.files-summary.svelte-4vnjxy: the count moved from y=203 to y=484 as the real Files collection populated. The recorded route CLS ranged up to 0.0200. The typography hits in that run were all .fc-* Files row selectors reserved for #538. I will keep the count out of the loading state so it appears at its final position after the API listing completes.

Evidence: artifacts/quirks-546-inspector-v2/after/files-inspector-1440-paper-mesh-open.png; full per-state selectors and source rectangles are in artifacts/quirks-546-inspector-v2/hits.jsonl.

Finding 03 update — Files count shift fixed

The follow-up production scan ran all 24 Files Inspector combinations (390/820/1440, light/dark, mesh/background image, sidebar states). The Files summary no longer appears in the shift sources, and the 281px jump is gone. The scan still recorded 17 small route CLS hits (0.0003–0.0076), sourced from the shared ModeHeader and bottom TabBar/capsule while route state changes. I am including those in the full route sweep to establish whether they recur on other modes.

The scan logged no remaining in-scope type-role hits; its 540 typography records are all Files collection row selectors reserved for #538. The active modal scope also removed the clipping report from the hidden selection count behind Quick Look.

Evidence: artifacts/quirks-546-files-cls-v1/hits.jsonl and its 24 production screenshots.

Matrix decision — sidebar presentation

DESIGN does not specify whether the full route matrix must duplicate both desktop sidebar states. The sweep uses the route content without a sidebar sheet at 390 px and with the sidebar open at 820 and 1440 px. It covers the phone sidebar sheet through the dedicated menu/sidebar scenarios. This keeps the requested 390/820/1440 × light/dark × background-image/no-image matrix to 12 states per route.

Progress: the production route matrix is still running across the requested widths, themes and background states. A focused Files Inspector rerun confirmed the loading count shift is gone; it recorded 11 small route-local shifts in shared header/bottom chrome (0.0002–0.0045 CLS). The broad matrix will determine whether those recur elsewhere. No in-scope new quirk has been confirmed yet.

Seed (orchestrator, Settings → Shortcuts on job/shortcuts-542): every shortcut row shows its Copy link icon permanently on desktop, which makes a noisy column of icons. Per the deep-link rule, Copy link is on hover/focus (always on touch) and in the context menu. Apply it in the shared Settings row primitive. Also the shared Settings JS chunk is 508,963 gzip bytes vs a 468,067 baseline (+8.7

Final report — #546

Branch: job/quirks-546
Head: ed958d03e38e0b538fe714530b5087bcf9cefdc9

Built

  • Expanded apps/web/e2e/layout-sweep.mjs with production route/state auditing for type roles, surface padding and materials, bare status text, overflow and clipping, focus rings, icon-label alignment, jargon, and route-local layout shift. Added the stable checks to the ordinary sweep and a progress line for each quirk-matrix state.
  • Kept the Files item count out of the loading layout shift and changed its loading label to “Loading files…”.
  • Applied shared type-scale roles to compact sidebar rows, Settings cards and rows, MiniMonth, ModeHeader, Quick Look, and text preview.
  • Added the Settings Files hidden route to apps/web/e2e/route-perf.mjs.
  • Kept the required matrix at 12 states per route: one sidebar state at each width, with dedicated phone sidebar checks.

Findings and evidence

The focused Files Inspector rerun recorded 11 small route-local layout shifts in shared header/bottom chrome, from 0.0002 to 0.0045 CLS. The Files summary count shift is gone.

The full production matrix ran until 10:35 and was stopped to stay inside the four-hour job limit. It exited with status 130 before writing hits.jsonl. It left 38 hit screenshots under artifacts/quirks-546-full-v2/after; complete route coverage and the final hit grouping are unverified. The committed progress logging will make a rerun observable.

The local three-run route profile reached its final Files capture, then failed because .files-frame [data-file-item] matched four rows where the harness requires a single visible locator. No performance JSON or p50/p95 result was written.

The shared type-role screenshot pair is attached:

The Files loading before screenshot is local at artifacts/quirks-546-target/before/loading-files-1440-paper-mesh-open.png. The after screenshot did not finish before the job timebox, so that pair is not attached. cargo clean and removal of apps/web/build also remain undone due to the same timebox.

Decisions and owner decisions

  • DESIGN does not define a full-matrix sidebar state. I used route content without a sidebar sheet at 390 px and an open sidebar at 820 and 1440 px; dedicated checks still cover the phone sidebar.
  • Owner decision: confirm whether the measured 0.0002–0.0045 CLS from shared header/bottom chrome transitions is acceptable.
  • Owner decision: confirm the single-sidebar-state choice for the full matrix.

I used route content without a sidebar sheet at 390 px and an open sidebar at 820 and 1440 px; dedicated checks still cover the phone sidebar. - Owner decision: confirm whether the measured 0.0002–0.0045 CLS from shared header/bottom chrome transitions is acceptable. - Owner decision: confirm the single-sidebar-state choice for the full matrix. ## Files changed - `apps/web/e2e/layout-sweep.mjs` - `apps/web/e2e/route-perf.mjs` - `apps/web/src/lib/files/FilesBrowser.svelte` - `apps/web/src/lib/search/SavedSearchList.svelte` - `apps/web/src/lib/styles/sidebar.css` - `apps/web/src/routes/settings/parts/SettingsCard.svelte` - `apps/web/src/routes/settings/parts/SettingsRow.svelte` - `packages/ui/src/components/FloatingSidebar.svelte` - `packages/ui/src/components/ModeHeader.svelte` - `packages/ui/src/components/calendar/MiniMonth.svelte` - `packages/ui/src/components/viewer/QuickLook.svelte` - `packages/ui/src/components/viewer/TextView.svelte`

Round 2 is starting on branch job/quirks-546. The worktree is clean at ed958d03e3. I fetched origin/dev at 687ff70313; #538 and #544 are merged there. I will rebase this branch onto that head before changing Files row markup, keep the round 1 fixes, then run the matrix in incremental shards.

Fixed the 820px Files Name track in the shared FileCollection primitive. Fixed the shared FileName middle cut. It now balances the visible filename stem, then keeps the full extension; a production E2E assertion checks that the long Latin name retains characters before the ellipsis at phone, tablet, and desktop widths. bun e2e/files.mjs --requests-only --shot-surface files passed, and CSP reported 0 across 17 pages. The Notes suite reaches a pre-existing block-anchor assertion before it visits the explorer, so I left that expectation unchanged and will verify this UI in the #546 Notes matrix shard.

Split Settings section bodies into on-demand chunks. The built Settings route node fell from 265,872 raw bytes to 17,325 raw bytes. bun run check reported svelte-check found 0 errors and 0 warnings; bun run build passed. The existing Settings containment E2E stopped before route rendering because its setTheme helper read an undefined window.__userStorageTest; I did not change its expectations. The route profile will measure the full loaded chunk set after the matrix.

Round 2 setup findings:

  • The shared seed() tried to create a Money budget for every shard. The new User has Money disabled, as the Money e2e flow asserts, so POST /api/v1/money/budgets returned 404 before scanning. The #546 runner now seeds the selected Tab and enables Money only in its own shard.
  • This sweep uses custom WebAuthn sign-in and did not install the existing #555 tagged-storage seam. setTheme() then failed with window.__userStorageTest undefined. The runner now installs the shared seam in desktop, touch and anonymous contexts.
  • The production /tasks screenshot at artifacts/quirks-546-matrix/before/tasks-390-paper-mesh-collapsed.png shows “This address is not valid”. The route table has no Tasks board screen to receive the reported last-column fade.
  • The first Tasks mesh pass wrote 52 hit records across 12 production screenshots to hits.jsonl. Its image-background states timed out while waiting for the app background to decode. I am tracing that state before continuing the full matrix.

Finding: the #546 production sweep used its own server launcher without the bounded media runtime from mediaSandboxEnv(). The uploaded background indexed successfully with a stable content hash, but GET /api/v1/files/thumb/<hash>?s=1024&v=1 remained 404 through the 12-second wait, so the image-paint matrix could not start. The shard harness now passes that runtime to the server, matching the shared E2E launcher. Committed as de54ff539; validating with the Settings shard.

#546 Settings matrix finding (production build): the 678-screen Tab shard completed at 390/820/1440 in Light/Dark with mesh and uploaded-image backgrounds. hits.jsonl now has 4,894 records (52 from the earlier Task shard, 4,842 from Settings), written as each check ran. The Settings records group to repeated primitive issues: nested shared label Pills resolve to line-height: normal; Settings SettingRow headings/descriptions miss type tokens; p.note blocks in Settings cards use browser weight 400 while the regular token is 450. Those repeat across widths, schemes, and background variants. Counts across the log: 4,587 type-role, 217 route-layout-shift, 80 jargon-label, 6 opaque-card, 4 focus-ring-clipped. I will fix the repeated shared typography primitives and review the remaining groups separately. The /tasks resolver findings belong to an invalid route in this checkout; the app has no Tasks board route.

The full Settings matrix after the first shared type fix completed 678 screens. It recorded 1,312 hits in 456 production screenshots, down from 4,842 hits in the pre-fix Settings/Task capture. Remaining Settings type-role hits group around .field > span (line-height: normal), .hint and .settings-row .extra (browser weight 400), and Settings empty-state copy (weight 400 plus normal leading). I will extend the existing Settings form, card and row primitives for these roles. The row-crop helper used scrollIntoViewIfNeeded, which timed out on Settings' nested scroll area; I will use an instant in-page scroll after the route audit so the matrix screenshot stays at rest.

The focused Settings production scan recorded zero type-role hits after the shared token fixes. It recorded 8 route-layout-shift hits, with sources in the sidebar and delayed Settings sections; I’m keeping those separate from the type-role change. The harness crop failure was also fixed: its row lookup now walks from the matched Copy link to its li.settings-row, so the focused capture completes.

Matrix boundary decision

DESIGN does not set additional visual matrix axes for this job. I use the three requested widths and two themes only. The matrix keeps the normal mesh background, the sidebar open on desktop and collapsed on phone. This gives the six requested captures per route; the ordinary layout sweep continues to cover both desktop sidebar states. A focused home shard confirms checked 6 screens and CSP REPORTS layout-sweep: 0 across 2 pages. Its 107 findings are in the sample shard; I am grouping them with the remaining Tab results before changing shared primitives.

Files shard: logged-out theme contract

All 138 Files route contexts completed in the width/theme matrix. The first run then stopped in the logged-out pass: public routes use the system Mono palette (mono in Light and noir in Dark), so they cannot match the signed-in User's saved Paper/Tokyo Night palette. I updated the screenshot harness to assert the actual anonymous contract and added --only __anonymous__ so this pass can rerun without duplicating the Files route captures.

The retry reports CSP REPORTS layout-sweep: 0 across 8 pages, checked 12 screens, and 78 findings in 12 production screenshots. The records were appended to the same round-2 hits.jsonl.

Round 2 matrix update: each product tab ran as a separate serial shard. Calendar completed 132 captures; Notes 34; Files 138 normal route contexts plus 12 anonymous contexts; Photos 36; Mail 48; Analytics 54; Notifications 6; Ask 18; Search 24; Settings 342; Shell 42. Each completed shard reported zero CSP violations. Tasks has no Tasks board, and its 0-screen shard was previously documented. Money stayed on its first route for five minutes without producing a screenshot or hit record; I stopped that shard at the per-tab timebox.

The incremental JSONL has 8,855 findings. Categories: 6,565 type-role, 910 clipped-text-no-ellipsis, 494 route-layout-shift, 393 opaque-card, 154 icon-label-centering, 140 files-row-layout, 109 focus-ring-clipped and 90 surface-text-inset. Top repeated type-role signatures include analytics activity labels (378 hits: default 400 weight and normal leading), shared menu labels (262: default 400 weight), calendar week headers (202: normal leading), analytics range labels (108: normal leading), and YearHeatmap day tiles (1,269: normal leading; 284 phone cells also use the intentional zero-size label style). The hidden analytics tables account for a large visible() false-positive group because the scanner sees descendants inside clipped .sr-only containers; I am correcting the scanner’s visibility rule alongside the shared role fixes.

Round 2 report

Head: 50a006765a
Base sync: fetched origin and merged origin/dev once; it was already up to date.
Working tree: clean after cleanup.

Seed findings

  • Files Name width at 820: the shared FileCollection Name column takes the available width with the sidebar open. Before/after crops are in the earlier issue comments; the after captures include Paper and Tokyo Night.
  • Notes sidebar header and rows: shared SidebarSectionHeader and NotesExplorer changes put + and ⋯ at the trailing edge and align rows with the heading’s leading edge. Six width/theme captures are attached.
  • File name middle truncation: shared FileName keeps the middle ellipsis while preserving the useful filename suffix. CJK light and RTL dark crops are attached.
  • Search footer glow: PillGroup no longer adds the unwanted shadow to the search action pill. Before/after crops at 390 and 1440 are in the earlier comments.
  • Settings Copy link: desktop shows the action on hover or focus; touch keeps it visible. Before/after crops are in the earlier comments.
  • Settings chunk: settings sections now load lazily. In the local route profile, Settings appearance JS/CSS gzip was 389,894/65,878 bytes versus the baseline 400,869/67,198 bytes.
  • Route-profile locator: the Files first-row locator now selects .first(). The local single-run profile completed. First-row p95 was 142 ms at 390, 491 ms at 820, and 493 ms at 1440 (under the 500 ms budget). This was a local n=1 run on a busy host, so it is a sanity profile rather than a baseline comparison.

Matrix and shared fixes

The visual matrix ran in serial, one-tab shards at 390, 820 and 1440 px in Paper and Tokyo Night, with the sidebar open on desktop and collapsed on phone. hits.jsonl was appended per shard under artifacts/quirks-546-round2/.

Completed shards: Calendar (132 captures), Notes (34), Files (138 normal route contexts plus 12 anonymous contexts), Photos (36), Mail (48), Analytics (54), Notifications (6), Ask (18), Search (24), Settings (342), and Shell (42). Completed shards reported zero CSP violations. The successful anonymous Files retry recorded 78 hits and zero CSP violations.

The Tasks route has no Tasks board and resolves to the generic invalid route, so its shard produced no screenshots. Money remained on its first route for five minutes without a screenshot or hit record; I stopped it at the per-tab timebox.

The pre-fix aggregate contained 8,855 findings: 6,565 type-role, 910 clipped-text-no-ellipsis, 494 route-layout-shift, 393 opaque-card, 154 icon-label-centering, 140 files-row-layout, 109 focus-ring-clipped and 90 surface-text-inset. The top repeated visible type-role classes were fixed in shared primitives: ActivityCard labels, MenuItem labels, TimeGrid headers, RangeBar labels, YearHeatmap day cells and related compact labels. The scanner now ignores clipped screen-reader-only content unless focused; this removed false positives from hidden analytics tables.

Focused post-fix reruns found no type-role hits in Analytics (54 captures), Notes (6 captures), Calendar Week (6 captures) or Calendar Year (6 checks). Remaining focused findings include Analytics route shifts (47), Notes route shifts (4) and surface insets (2), and Calendar Week clipped text (50) and route shifts (8). The full matrix was not rerun after these shared fixes, so the aggregate is not a clean final scan. After captures for Menu, Notes, Calendar Week/Year and Analytics are attached to this issue; seed-finding crop pairs are in earlier comments.

Decisions and gaps

  • Used Paper and Tokyo Night at the three required widths, with the sidebar open on desktop and collapsed on phone. Anonymous share pages use the system palette.
  • Kept the YearHeatmap phone numerals at zero visual size; their accessible names remain available.
  • Tasks was not treated as a product screen because there is no Tasks board. Money needs a rerun when its route can produce a capture. The full visual matrix needs a post-fix rerun; the remaining findings above are visible and have not all been resolved.
  • Route-profile measurements were local and had one run per viewport on a busy host. No visual expectations or test expectations were changed.
  • Rust source was not changed, so no Rust crate gates were run.

The test run emitted existing jsdom CSS parse and Window.scrollTo warnings; all tests passed. Production build also completed successfully. Cleanup: cargo clean reported “Removed 7362 files, 5.3GiB total”; apps/web/build was removed.

## Round 2 report **Head:** 50a006765ab635665cc0fc53ccaef10d6210fdf0 **Base sync:** fetched origin and merged origin/dev once; it was already up to date. **Working tree:** clean after cleanup. ### Seed findings - **Files Name width at 820:** the shared FileCollection Name column takes the available width with the sidebar open. Before/after crops are in the earlier issue comments; the after captures include Paper and Tokyo Night. - **Notes sidebar header and rows:** shared SidebarSectionHeader and NotesExplorer changes put + and ⋯ at the trailing edge and align rows with the heading’s leading edge. Six width/theme captures are attached. - **File name middle truncation:** shared FileName keeps the middle ellipsis while preserving the useful filename suffix. CJK light and RTL dark crops are attached. - **Search footer glow:** PillGroup no longer adds the unwanted shadow to the search action pill. Before/after crops at 390 and 1440 are in the earlier comments. - **Settings Copy link:** desktop shows the action on hover or focus; touch keeps it visible. Before/after crops are in the earlier comments. - **Settings chunk:** settings sections now load lazily. In the local route profile, Settings appearance JS/CSS gzip was 389,894/65,878 bytes versus the baseline 400,869/67,198 bytes. - **Route-profile locator:** the Files first-row locator now selects .first(). The local single-run profile completed. First-row p95 was 142 ms at 390, 491 ms at 820, and 493 ms at 1440 (under the 500 ms budget). This was a local n=1 run on a busy host, so it is a sanity profile rather than a baseline comparison. ### Matrix and shared fixes The visual matrix ran in serial, one-tab shards at 390, 820 and 1440 px in Paper and Tokyo Night, with the sidebar open on desktop and collapsed on phone. hits.jsonl was appended per shard under artifacts/quirks-546-round2/. ### Files changed - E2E harness: apps/web/e2e/files.mjs, apps/web/e2e/layout-sweep.mjs, apps/web/e2e/route-perf.mjs - Shared UI primitives: packages/ui/src/components/FloatingSidebar.svelte, ModeHeader.svelte, Pill.svelte, PillGroup.svelte, SettingRow.svelte, SidebarSectionHeader.svelte, calendar/MiniMonth.svelte, calendar/TimeGrid.svelte, calendar/YearHeatmap.svelte, files/FileCollection.svelte, files/FileName.svelte, menu/MenuItem.svelte, viewer/QuickLook.svelte, viewer/TextView.svelte - App components and routes: apps/web/src/lib/components/NoteList.svelte, apps/web/src/lib/components/analytics/ActivityCard.svelte, BklitAnalytics.tsx, DistributionCard.svelte, HabitsCard.svelte, RangeBar.svelte, apps/web/src/lib/files/FilesBrowser.svelte, apps/web/src/lib/notes/NotesExplorer.svelte, apps/web/src/lib/search/SavedSearchList.svelte, apps/web/src/lib/styles/sidebar.css, apps/web/src/routes/notes/+page.svelte, apps/web/src/routes/settings/[...path]/+page.svelte, apps/web/src/routes/settings/account/LocationGroup.svelte, apps/web/src/routes/settings/calendars/CalendarsSection.svelte, apps/web/src/routes/settings/mail/MailSection.svelte, apps/web/src/routes/settings/parts/SettingsCard.svelte, apps/web/src/routes/settings/parts/SettingsRow.svelte, apps/web/src/routes/settings/parts/settings-forms.css ### Decisions and gaps - Used Paper and Tokyo Night at the three required widths, with the sidebar open on desktop and collapsed on phone. Anonymous share pages use the system palette. - Kept the YearHeatmap phone numerals at zero visual size; their accessible names remain available. - Tasks was not treated as a product screen because there is no Tasks board. Money needs a rerun when its route can produce a capture. The full visual matrix needs a post-fix rerun; the remaining findings above are visible and have not all been resolved. - Route-profile measurements were local and had one run per viewport on a busy host. No visual expectations or test expectations were changed. - Rust source was not changed, so no Rust crate gates were run. ### Web gates bun run check: ~~~ $ node scripts/check-user-storage.mjs && node scripts/check-type-tokens.mjs && node scripts/check-motion-tokens.mjs && svelte-kit sync && svelte-check --tsconfig ./tsconfig.json User browser caches use userStorage; only documented device/public-link exceptions remain. Static UI-text evidence for #546 from rev-consistency (#427), origin/dev at c4a61e8cf090170f35b1bed3350d9de20c83ecd5:

  • apps/web/src/routes/settings/plugins/PluginsSection.svelte:132: “Choose which available modes appear for you.” Its error action at line 113 says “change this mode”. CONTEXT.md requires Tab in UI text; mode is a code term.
  • apps/web/src/routes/settings/mail/MailSection.svelte:614: the empty state explains an “IMAP account”, “source of truth”, “encrypted app password” and “rebuildable copy”. Line 706 says “The Mail Index and saved app password will be deleted”. Use plain consequences for the User: connect an email account, messages stay with the email service, and disconnecting removes the saved connection and local copy.
  • apps/web/src/routes/settings/account/AppPasswordsGroup.svelte:335,533-535 still shows protocol/scope/preset wording in the main creation flow. Existing #412 covers that fix.
  • apps/web/src/routes/settings/account/LocationGroup.svelte:244 still says “exact device fix” and “radius”. Existing #502 covers that fix.

Keep generic glossary/Settings copy in #546, and avoid duplicating #412/#502. Test visible and accessible labels and error states, including failed Tab preference changes. Preserve the advanced protocol details only where a User must copy or select an external client's configuration. No product copy was changed by this review.
