Goal

Replace the current transcript rows with a polished, native iMessage-like bubble treatment while retaining Hermternal's agent identity.

Direction

  • User messages: trailing-aligned compact bubbles.
  • Hermes messages: leading-aligned bubbles with a restrained Hermes marker.
  • Bubble width responds to content and window width; long technical responses remain readable rather than becoming narrow phone-shaped columns.
  • Preserve text selection, fenced code blocks, copy actions, streaming, reduced transparency, light/dark mode, and large Dynamic Type.
  • Consecutive messages from one role should visually group without ornamental tails on every row.

Non-goals

Do not imitate Messages pixel-for-pixel, add avatars to every row, or sacrifice dense technical output for decorative chrome.

Acceptance

Short conversational turns read like messages; long Markdown/code remains efficient to scan and scroll.
