"even though it's an all day task, the buy milk shows up here on an unrelated event?" The preview of the log entry "Attack on Titan 19:45–20:30 #area/movies" lists the task "Buy milk".

Cause

Working as designed by DESIGN §31: a new task is written as a - [ ] → [Title](…) child bullet under the latest log entry of the day. "Attack on Titan" was the latest entry when "Buy milk" was created, so the task is attached to it. The owner finds this unrelated. Design question for the owner (grill): where does a task that is not about a log entry go?

Also seen

  • The preview shows the task chip with a square-check icon, which reads as "done" although the task is todo. Use the task's real state icon.
  • The preview shows #area/movies while the event block shows #movies. One tag display rule (DESIGN §46 uses the Sentence-case leaf for calendars; decide for chips).

Owner answers (2026-09-29): T1 → the calendar is a stream of everything; a task added after an event is its own item after the event card (continued in the calendar-stream grill issue). T2 → leave the files (test data). T3 → yes, real state and tickable; previews per density level to be discussed. T4 → asked: task tags use the #task/ namespace (calternal.js grammar).
