Found during real Apple Mail acceptance for #486 on 393c7ca9b (macOS 27.0).

The installed generated account lists only the seven root mailboxes (the six unified Mail folders and Notes), after account synchronization. The Connected Account folders do not appear. The isolated TLS provider has Projects/Autumn and the web API lists it.

Protocol evidence:

  • LIST "" "%" returns Notes, INBOX, Sent, Drafts, Trash, Archive and Junk.
  • LSUB "" "*" also returns reader@example.test / Projects and reader@example.test / Projects/Autumn, and the other account folders.
  • No parent for reader@example.test / … is returned. A client that walks the / hierarchy cannot discover that tree from its root listing.

calternal-imap::Session::list emits only exact provider folder names, all with empty attributes. The Mail provider supplies leaf folders without their account parent. Add bounded non-selectable parent entries, including their correct LIST attributes and reference handling. Keep Notes behavior and provider authorization tests. Confirm on real Apple Mail that the account tree and nested folder open.

This blocks the §53 account-tree acceptance. This report does not claim a root-cause fix. Generated fixture only; no owner mailbox or credentials.

Correction to the initial finding: a later real VNC capture shows the reader@… account parent in Apple Mail after account synchronization, while the first body download is still running. Mail can synthesize that parent from the full LSUB result. The initial AppleScript root-mailbox enumeration did not establish that the tree was absent after startup completed. The missing parent in protocol ROOT LIST is real, but its asserted Apple Mail impact is not established. I am testing the expanded tree now. Do not treat this issue as a confirmed acceptance blocker on the initial evidence alone. Left open per the job rule; the orchestrator can assess whether a protocol follow-up is useful.

Final round-two evidence confirms the Connected Account tree in VNC and opens Autumn workshop notes from its original nested folder. Thus this issue is not an Apple Mail acceptance blocker. Only the protocol root-list parent omission remains a potential follow-up. The full #486 report links the native evidence. Left open for orchestrator disposition; no client-tree failure is claimed.
