Owner idea (2026-10-01, Calendar Sets grill)

"I think [automatic switching] belongs to 'Focus Modes' (like Calendar Sets but they filter the entire app as a whole, like iOS)."
Idea: a Focus (e.g. Work, Personal, Sleep) filters the whole app at once, as iOS Focus does:

  • which Calendar Set is active (#543);
  • which Mail accounts and inboxes show;
  • which Notes folders, Tasks lists, Files roots, Money budgets and tags are in view;
  • which notifications break through.
    A Focus can switch on manually, on a schedule or by place (Location saved places, #391), and it syncs across the User's devices. Calendar Sets stay manual inside the Calendar tab; automatic switching lives here.
    Grill first (OPEN; do not build):
  • What each Tab filters under a Focus.
  • Notification rules.
  • Schedules and places.
  • Device sync, and how it shows in the chrome (one bar; the sidebar shows the active Focus?).
  • API/CLI/MCP parity: assistants see the active Focus.
  • Whether App Passwords can be tied to a Focus (like the set-limited passwords in #543).
