Testable on calternal.cloud — morning of 2026-09-29 (Claude, live list; updated through the night)

App Passwords / Apple

  • Settings → Account → App Passwords: create a password, scan the QR on iPhone or download on Mac. The profile is now signed with your Developer ID (Settings → Admin → Server configuration shows the signer and expiry). Expect "Verified" on install.
  • Scope presets: Calendar (CalDAV), Photo upload (PhotoSync, upload-only, Home prefix), read-only, expiry. Revoke works per password.
  • Apple Calendar: the Journal "error 2" (colour/order PROPPATCH) is fixed. Change the colour in Apple Calendar; it sticks.
  • Reminders: Apple now syncs the reminders list, but creating a reminder in Reminders.app still fails (422) until #358 merges (in progress). Don't test Reminders yet.

Calendar

  • New grid: opaque sticky header, inset event cards, all-day row. One view switcher: views in the sidebar when it is open, pills in the header when it is closed; the H1 is never a dropdown.
  • "+N" all-day chip opens the list of all all-day items (Day and Week). A rich task is counted once ("Buy milk").
  • Known: at 820 px with the sidebar open, Week cards show only "…" (#376, in progress).

Files and Photos

  • Select-all checkbox in the list header (empty / dash / ticked, accent colour); ⌘A does the same. Count pill is separate from the actions pill; no Done.
  • Hidden and internal files (dot files, .calternal/) no longer appear as your activity; Files → ⋯ → Show hidden files.
  • Shared Photos folders now appear on the recipient's timeline after opt-in.

Everything else

  • Analytics and all page cards are much more transparent; theme variants are submenus (Ayu › Dark / Mirage); User/Admin headers are bigger; toasts show above overlays.
  • Mobile: the composer opens centred above the keyboard; focused fields open the keyboard.
  • Notes you only open are never rewritten. A concurrent delete no longer drops another device's edit.
  • Search keeps returning results during an index rebuild and under database load.
  • Web push works from Chromium forks such as Aside (any public HTTPS push service).
  • Mail: Settings → Mail connects an IMAP account with an app password (read-only sync; no Mail mode UI yet).
  • CLI (on o2, ~/bin/calternal — update the binary to test): ls is human-readable by default, follows all pages; --json for agents; put --mtime.

Apple

  • Reminders: creating a reminder in Reminders.app now lands as a Markdown task (verified on the macOS VM). Completing it still fails (422); the fix is in progress (#358). Test creation only.
  • Signed profiles are live (Developer ID, valid to Feb 2027).

New screens

  • Settings → Admin → Jobs: every background queue by area, with inline Pause/Resume, a ⋯ menu, live progress. Settings → My jobs for your own work.
  • Settings → Account → Storage: usage meter; Admin → Users: per-User quota (5 GB default; owner and admins unlimited). Quota enforcement is merged but not yet deployed (conflict round; next deploy).
  • MCP: https://calternal.cloud/mcp (Streamable HTTP). Create an App Password with the API preset and add it as a Bearer header in your MCP client; docs/mcp.md has the steps. 7 tools: search, create log entry, open note, and others.

Look and feel

  • Touch: no shortcut hints on phone; one "Info" title in sheets; the phone header shows only the current folder.
  • Type scale follows Apple's HIG on phone; headers keep their titles whole ("Tue 29", "Sep 2026").
  • One spring motion app-wide (sheets, sidebar, segmented controls, popovers, toasts). Please judge the feel; my frame strips cannot show it.
  • Toasts: more room between the message and its action.

Editing

  • Undo/redo no longer duplicates blocks or pasted images; a concurrent delete no longer drops edits.

CLI on o2 (~/bin/calternal, updated): human output by default, ls follows all pages, --json for agents, put --mtime.

Correction to the 05:20 update: quota (#333) is not merged yet (it is finishing a merge round), so Settings → Account → Storage and the per-User quota in Admin → Users are not live. Move them to 'Not ready' until the next update.

An independent number review and a live probe passed before merge.
