Rule: privacy and security protections should work quietly. Do not show a blocked warning. Use plain words for browser permission steps and do not name third-party products.

Findings and proposed copy:

  • apps/web/src/lib/notifications/push.ts:157-158: Notifications are blocked for this site in your browser settings. / Notifications stay off: the browser did not get permission. Say Notifications are off for this site. Change this in your browser settings.
  • apps/web/src/routes/settings/notifications/NotificationsSection.svelte:80: Push notifications need a secure (HTTPS) connection to this server. Say Notifications need a secure connection to this Instance.
  • :84,117: Blocked for this site in your browser’s settings. and the Blocked chip. Say Off for this site and Off.
  • :130: In Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. Say Open the share menu, then choose Add to Home Screen.
  • :134: To get notifications here, allow them for this site in the browser’s site settings (the icon next to the address), then reload. Say Turn on notifications for this site in your browser settings, then reload this page.

Expected: explain how to turn on notifications in calm, plain words. Do not show a blocked warning or a browser product name.

Test idea: check unsupported, needs-install, denied and allowed permission states. Check the visual status and screen-reader name. Confirm that denied permission stays off until the User changes it in the browser.
